Experience a unique slice of Baltimore’s history at the Maryland Center for History and Culture’s new exhibit, “Unraveled: From Wire Mesh to Masterpiece.”
This exhibit explores the tradition and craft of painted screens, a unique folk art form that has been a vibrant part of Baltimore’s streetscape since 1913.
The design of the exhibition took inspiration from the Red Bungalow image using a gold frame interwoven with the text. The colors were selected directly from the original screen painting and used to create a harmonious color palette.
The identity system includes a billboard, poster, and postcard to help market the exhibition as it travels from museum to museum. These designs were explicitly made for the exhibition to be showcased at the Maryland Center for History and Culture.
